I don't drink milk, but...On throwing food out:<br /><br />I don't drink milk, but I use it in cooking and occasionally on cereal. A half-gallon generally lasts me a month. I think I've had it go bad once.<br /><br />I've read that rice, properly stored (kept dry) will last up to 10 years. I guess if you're not using it in 10 years, you're buying too much rice! <br /><br />I recently found two cans of tomato paste that were several years past their expiration. I'm not sure how they survived the great pantry clean out before I moved last year. I've used both of them now without problem.Sallynoreply@blogger.com
