Share YOUR Best Post of 2012!

Did you write an article or a recipe for your blog during 2012 that you're particularly proud of? Would you like to put it in front of a wider audience?

Then share it right here at Casual Kitchen!

One of my key goals here is to match thoughtful readers with thought-provoking things that ought to be read. I've been running this feature at CK for a few years now, and every year I've been overjoyed with how many great posts readers have shared and cross-fertilized here.

So for today's post, I'd like to give the floor to you, and give you a chance to use Casual Kitchen to get the word out on your best work from the past year. It's my way of thanking you for your incredible support.

Here's how to participate: Just paste a link to your favorite post or your best recipe from 2012 in the comments section below, and add a sentence or two on what it's about. That's it! It can be your most popular recipe of the year, a great piece of food writing, or even something from outside of the world of food blogs.

PS: If you don't have a blog (or if you're one of the very few bloggers who don't want new readers), feel free to share a great post from someone else who you read and enjoy. Nothing wrong with spreading the link love around.

Finally, as Casual Kitchen wraps up its sixth (sixth!!!) year, let me take a moment to thank you, my incredible readers. I can't tell you how grateful I am for all your support, insights, feedback and comments.

My favorite post did not include a recipe, but it was definitely the one that garnered the most commentary from my friends on Facebook. It was the one where I bought a HUGE jackfruit, then nurtured it several weeks while it ripened. Good times.

We were vacationing in Vieques, Puerto Rico and bought these wonderful lobsters from the fish market down the street.

I love reading what everyone posts on these. :) I had already read Monica's because I think you linked it on a Friday, Dan. Great entry.

I don't have a specific post to post. In 2012, my cooking became as personalized as I always wanted it to be and truly, I am proud of every dish I posted at Alosha's Kitchen.

If anything, I am much more likely to tell everyone about my new tumblr blog:

www.happyhealthycook.tumblr.com

because I finally have a place that really pulls together every aspect of my life in one amazing easy and fun platform. It's the first blog I feel is truly ME. I am proud of it.

Congrats on 6 years!!! My best writing this year is A gluten free french omelette discussing whether or not there is a place for naturally GF recipes.

Dan, thanks for the opportunity to share, and congrats on reaching 6 years with this awesome blog!

I have two blogs to share: http://www.spoonmatters.com/2012/09/quick-thoughts-on-chain-restaurants.html - This was a post I wrote after reading a "top restaurants" list in our local paper that was almost entirely huge chains.

And on my less noticed blog: http://www.parttimeminimalist.com/2012/11/vote-with-your-dollars_26.html - Dan often talks about our power over corporate decisions and urges us to not be mindless consumers, and I've taken voting with my dollars to heart.

This has been my most popular recipe so far. It's not necessarily healthy but once in a while we need to let ourselves go!

I do have to say this blogging has been a big learning adventure. Hoping this link works!

Hi - Thanks for the generosity! I have a website on container gardening at About.com. I do lots of articles about growing edibles.

One of my most popular posts how to grow garlic greens inside.

Well, with the pregnancy and new baby, my cooking has been more of the "old favorites" and not "new recipes" for most of the year. I'd have to say my favorite post was the one where we camped in Joshua Tree.

@Jenn--I loved your article on the place of "naturally gluten-free" food in gluten-free cooking. I am not gluten-free, but I have several friends who are (including many who come over for dinner parties), and for several months, I lived with a gluten-free family and cooked weekly. Since I am not gluten-free all the time, I am not comfortable experimenting with gluten-"replacement" recipes and prefer to stick to just making things that are naturally gluten-free. (Same when I need to cook vegan.) I would LOVE a resource of naturally gluten-free recipes, things I already know or have a general idea how to make, but may not have thought of.

A few months ago, I was BAFFLED how to make a dessert that was gluten-free AND vegan, but that required no substitutions. Could do either/or naturally, but couldn't think of much that was both. Then, last week, I made Christmas cookies...and realized my peanut butter fudge recipe is gluten-free, vegan, and delicious! Just need that kind of inspiration in the moment.

tl;dr: Rock on!
