Did you write a post or an article for your blog during 2008 that you're particularly proud of? Why not share it with the rest of us?
Paste a link to that post in the comments section below (along with an explanatory sentence or two on what the post is about), so all the readers here can enjoy it too.
Here's mine: it's a longer essay I wrote that contained what I felt was some original thinking about food price inflation. I consider it the best thing I wrote all year:
Stacked Costs and Second-Order Foods: A New Way to Think About Rising Food Costs
What would you like to share? It doesn't necessarily have to be about food or cooking--it can be a longer article or essay, some great humor writing, a post with exceptional photos, or your most popular recipe post from the past year. Anything you'd like to share with a wider audience.
Here's to still more great blog writing in 2009!
Dan
PS: If you don't have a blog of your own, or if you're that one-in-a-million blogger who's too shy to promote yourself, why not nominate a "best article" from someone else's blog?

Viognier and Spaghetti Carbonara
My post about Texas wine and spaghetti carbonara.
KMAYS, thanks for breaking the ice. :)
I'm going to nominate a best post from one of my must-see favorite blogs, CheapHealthyGood. It's one of the most trafficked and most commented posts of the year there, and I still laugh out loud every time I read it:

I love travel, probably as much as food. So I nominate a post I read at Thanksgiving-time, when I found Chris Guillebeau's inspiring blog The Art of Nonconformity.
Like many of his posts, this one challenges the "what you do"s in life, and encourages his readers to follow their own unique paths to success. Came just in time to help me with my New Year's resolutions for 2009.

I think most people can identify with its message.
Anonymous: Thank you! I've been reading The Art of Nonconformity the past couple of days and I think it's quite good.
Alyson: Thank you so much for sharing that beautiful post.

I kept meaning to respond to this. I guess I just couldn't think of a particular post I wanted to put up. As much as we all laud our dishes as we present them, I, for one, find it hard to praise my own stuff in the end. :)
But here:

Melissa, that is an excellent post and a GREAT recipe, thank you so much for sharing it!

Thanks for this opportunity! You have a great blog!
I think I'm going to choose my quick essay on the topic of free water in restaurants: http://chewonthatblog.com/2008/07/22/on-free-water-a-quick-essay/ In America, water at a restaurant is usually free while in Europe, it's usually not. Which way do you think it should be?
Happy new year everyone!
