Aaaaand I'm back with another Friday Links from around the internet. Thanks for indulging me with a month off while I did some traveling. As always, I welcome your thoughts.

Let's start off with a few good recipes:
Really easy Tyropitakia, oozing with Feta goodness. (Kalofagas)

For the subset of humanity who likes Brussels Sprouts, here's a free collection of 15 recipes. (Ocean Mist Farms)

The Thug Kitchen cookbook. Don't click if you can't a few swear words. (Youtube)

And then some articles on food and the food industry that caught my eye over the past week or so:

How the worst apple ever took over the USA. (Atlantic)

"I am ashamed to be a vegetarian." (PJ Media)

Why markets--not "experts"--should decide what foods we eat. (Jayson Lusk)

Bonus from Jayson Lusk: Who, exactly, are vegetarians? Interesting stats here. (Jayson Lusk)

Imagine you die and go to Heaven and stand in front of a jury made up of Thomas Jefferson, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Your task would be to compose yourself, look them in the eye, and say, "I was all about fresh, local, and seasonal." (New Yorker)

Also, the New Yorker goes off on going gluten-free. (New Yorker)

"We’ve got a problem, and we have to address it. The candy companies are going to have to reinvent themselves and provide healthy options." It's a good exercise in critical thinking to count the fallacies in this article. (Washington Post)

Holding the Food Babe accountable for her atrocious junk science. (Pork Network via 50by25)

Thanks for the apple article, I couldn't agree more!

I have a Pavlovian response to the soi-disant "Food Babe".

Overwhelming hate combined with an urge to turn green, grow in size, and start smashing everything in sight.

.. I usually just have a beer instead.

I'm sensing hostility towards brusell sprouts, Daniel.

Haha nice. I'm in therapy for it. :)

Actually, as a kid I used to hate brussels sprouts with the heat of a thousand suns. But then in my late 20s one of my sisters made them for me (it was a recipe where she splashed them with lemon juice and roasted them) and I discovered to my shock that I actually not only didn't mind them, I liked them.

I still haven't come around on mayonnaise though.
